Ingredients
- 4 cups Water
- 1 cup Fresh or frozen blackberries
- 3 tbsp Fresh sage leaves
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 tbsp Maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring water to a simmer and steep sage leaves for about 5 minutes.
- Add blackberries to the saucepan, return to simmer, and gently mash them to release their juices.
- Stir in maple syrup after removing from heat, adjusting sweetness as desired.
- Let cool to room temperature, strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher.
- Mix in freshly squeezed lemon juice and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled (1-2 hours).
- Serve over ice with additional blackberries and sage leaves as garnish.
