  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and instant yeast; let sit until frothy (5–10 minutes).
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, eggs, and yeast mixture at low speed until combined. Gradually add room temperature butter.
  3. Knead the dough on medium speed for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  5. Punch down the dough; divide into about 18 equal pieces and shape into balls on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Cover shaped buns and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Brush buns with egg wash (1 egg whisked with 2 tablespoons water) before baking.
  9. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown.
