  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  3. In a bowl, mix all blackening seasonings together and coat each chicken breast evenly.
  4. Add avocado oil to the hot skillet. Sear the chicken breasts for about 5 minutes until a blackened crust forms.
  5. Flip the chicken and transfer the skillet to the oven until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C), about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and add butter and minced garlic to the skillet; stir for about 1 minute until fragrant.
