Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef shoulder (cut into 1-inch cubes)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 large shallot (thinly sliced)
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 egg
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the beef: In a mixing bowl, combine beef cubes with soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, five-spice powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss well and let marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for maximum flavor.
- Grill the beef: Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated beef for about 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- Prepare crispy shallots: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add thinly sliced shallots and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Cook the egg: In another skillet, fry an egg sunny-side up until whites are set but yolk remains runny.
- Assemble the bowl: Serve cooked rice topped with grilled beef, crispy shallots, and sunny-side up egg. Garnish with chopped green onions.
