- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Melt dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and granulated sugar until frothy. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mixture, then sift in cocoa powder and mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes until set but soft in the center.
- Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar or serve with fresh berries.
