- 4 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk

- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream

Instructions
- Chill the ice cream maker bowl for at least 24 hours.
- In a medium bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until smooth.
- Heat milk and salt in a saucepan until simmering, then temper the eggs by gradually adding hot milk.
- Cook over low heat until thickened (3–5 minutes) and strain into a bowl.
- Stir in heavy cream, orange juice, zest, and vanilla. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Churn in the ice cream maker for about 25 minutes until soft serve consistency is reached.
- Freeze in an airtight container for at least 4 hours before serving.
